Wind River Fishing Is Good – Very Good Indeed
Just wanted to say Happy Easter to you and yours…
…and give a quick Wind River Fly Fishing Report for the Dubois, Wyoming area.
This is for April 8th, 2012 and concerns the Upper Wind River.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter Celebration and were able to get out there and do a little fly-fishing too.
Had what I would call a Stellar Day on the upper Wind River yesterday.
The wind was kicking up a bit but overall, was not bad.
My fly fishing arch nemesis (er, ah, friend) Dennis is in town for a week and we decided to do some Research And Development.
Dennis wanted to try out a new 10′ 3 weight fly rod – so I let him check it out.
He is considering buying one for his arsenal.

Not sure why he didn’t do so well with the rod. I mean I picked it up and proceeded to catch a killer brown almost immediately after dropping in the double nymph rig.
Hmm. I am now having flash-backs of something Dennis said in the Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout Video…(lol)
Just kidding, Kidd. 🙂
Anyway, truth be told, because you know we can tell no lies, I was able to hook up with two of the largest Browns I have ever caught in this stretch of the Wind River. What a blast! It was one of those days where everything seemed to go right.
Once again, both Dennis and I are overcome by and Infected with F.P.I
Here is a Wind River Fly Fishing report for Dubois, Wyoming with lots of details, including what nymphs we recommend you try.
